UIC honors Dr Ghanshyam Pandey again

CHICAGO: Dr Ghanshyam Pandey, Professor of Psychiatry and Pharmacology at the University of Illinois, College of Medicine at Chicago, has been honored with the 2014 Distinguished Faculty Award.

Dr Pandey received the medal for this award in a Commencement Ceremony of the UIC College of Medicine held on 9th of May at the UIC Pavilion. Earlier, Dr Pandey had received the Researcher of the Year award from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2011.

The citation of the award read: “This honor is in recognition of the international recognition you have brought to UIC through your exceptional research on the neurobiology of mood disorders and suicide. Your work has led to original discoveries by elucidating the molecular and cellular nature of abnormalities associated with the patho-physiology of mood disorders and suicide, and you are considered a world-wide leader in the field of biological psychiatry.”
