About

Sofia Lostaunau is a fourth year undergraduate student at the University of Illinois Chicago pursuing BS in Psychology and Gender & Women’s Studies, with a minor in Sociology. She currently serves as a research assistant in both the ACCESS for Mental Health lab, and the Young Adult and Adolescent ADHD Services lab, specifically working on a suicide prevention quality improvement initiative within UI Health psychiatry clinics. Her research interests include: ADD/ADHD in women, the impact of trauma on the human body, and the efficacy of mindfulness and meditation practices in treating psychological disorders. Sofia is dedicated to advancing research aimed at improving mental health outcomes and reducing disparities in access to mental health care. After earning her undergraduate degree, Sofia intends to advance her studies by pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology.

Sofia Lostaunau's research interests include ADD/ADHD in adults and women, the physiological impact of psychological trauma, and the efficacy of mindfulness and meditation in treating psychological disorders.
