With over 20 years of experience, Shawn has a multitude of experience in schools, clinical practice and in community settings. Shawn has a certification for domestic violence advocacy, dramatherapy certification, as well as her school social worker certification. In practice, Shawn has worked with children and teens with disabilities across the spectrum, LGTBQ+, 18-21 population, anxiety, mood difficulties, ADHD, as well as with survivors of domestic violence. With utilizing a creative approach to therapy, her techniques in therapy include play, improv games, dramatherapy and role plays to practice social and emotional skills. Shawn’s favorite modalities include CBT, DBT, the Polyvagal Theory and Mindfulness. Shawn is a published author of two books about the use of sketch comedy and improv games for social emotional learning and in therapy.
