Dr. Olu-Lawal is a medical graduate from Windsor University School of Medicine, Saint Kitts and Nevis. She is passionate about psychiatry and would apply for a Psychiatry residency in the coming match. She has shown her commitment to psychiatry through acquiring various inpatient and outpatient psychiatry hands-on clinical experience here in the US, some of which include her externships at the inpatient unit of Loretto Hospital Chicago, the outpatient psychiatry department and the emergency department of the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center respectively.

She has done several research works in the field of psychiatry including mood disorders, sleep disorders, neurology disorders, and cognitive disorders. She believes one of her life’s missions is mental health advocacy to reduce the stigma around mental health, this she does through various volunteer projects in partnership with diverse organizations, for example, the 2nd Annual Mental Health Symposium organized by Christian Mental Health Initiative (CMHI) in May 2024 with almost 100 people in attendance. She is actively involved in mentoring medical and premed students both locally and internationally. She is currently an intern at Black Psychiatrists of America, where she manages their social media accounts and communications. In her free time, she likes to sing, watch movies, write, create self-development Instagram videos and travel. She looks forward to being a well-rounded Psychiatrist.
