Dr. Naylor is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Medicine. He is the Director of the Behavioral Health and Welfare Program, a program formed by contract between the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and UIC to address the mental health needs of the most severely disturbed state wards. In addition, he directs the UIC Clinical Services in Psychopharmacology Program and consults with the DCFS Psychotropic Medication Consent Line regarding psychotropic medication consents for youth in state custody. He is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry, general psychiatry and sleep disorders medicine and is an expert in child and adolescent mood disorders and psychopharmacology. He has published more than 100 peer reviewed manuscripts, abstracts and book chapters and has presented his work at national meetings. Dr. Naylor received the 2008 Norbert and Charlotte Rieger Service Program Award for Excellence as the Director of the Behavioral Health and Welfare Program. Dr. Naylor earned his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. He completed his general psychiatry residency, his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship, and his sleep disorders fellowship at the University of Michigan School of Medicine.
