Dr. Alshawwaf is a clinical Psychiatrist with extensive knowledge and experience in providing patient care in the form of crisis intervention, Psych assessments, and referral services to people from varied backgrounds.
His educational journey included training at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar and Rush University Medical Center in the USA. Dr. Alshawwaf has prestigious titles of Arab Board of Health Specializations in Psychiatry and Fellow of the American Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
He worked as a general adult psychiatrist for more than five years in inpatient and outpatient mental health settings and recently as a Consultation liaison psychiatrist in general medical hospitals playing a major in the integration strategy of mental health facilities in the community.
He assures that Clients, family members, and other stakeholders are treated with dignity. He has demonstrated experience in treating ailments like Mood disorders, Anxiety disorders, PTSD, Psychosis, Substance Use Disorders, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and Psychiatric conditions in Medically ill patients.
As a pioneering researcher, Dr. Alshawwaf has spearheaded groundbreaking studies in mental and behavioral issues. His work, published in esteemed journals, has been featured at premier international Psychiatry conferences.
Beyond his administrative roles, Dr. Alshawwaf is a dedicated mentor, guiding residents, students, fellows, and physicians in psychiatric assessment and management. His influence in medical education extends to teaching at institutions like Weill-Cornell Medical College and Rush University Medical College.
