I am a clinical psychologist and have successfully defended by dissertation in July of 2018.For my dissertation, I combined Drs. Shankman and Luan Phan’s archival data to examine how posttraumatic stress symptoms relate to psychophysiological responding during the anticipation of predictable and unpredictable threat, and recently submitted the findings for publication. While on internship this past year, I have worked with Drs. Tory Eisenlohr and Stephanie Gorka to continue to investigate transdiagnostic affective processes involved in the pathophysiology of internalizing symptoms. I am currently preparing two papers for publication with Dr. Gorka: (1) One on the relation between neural responding to uncertain threat and neraul responding to uncertain reward, and (2) One on the role of startle potentiation to unpredictable threat in suicidal ideation. I am also collaborating with Dr. Eisenlohr to produce a manuscript on the relationship between menstrual cycle phase and alcohol abuse. I will be beginning a post-doctoral position at Rush University Medical Center in August of 2019, and this position will focus on the treatment of PTSD. This program was of great value as it made me more fluent in many aspects of neuroscience.
