Dr. Petry was born and raised in Champaign, IL where he attended college at the University of Illinois, before starting at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine. Upon graduation he began residency in the UIC psychiatry program where he was Chief Resident of Education and selected as a National Neuroscience Curriculum Initiative Scholar. He works on the inpatient psychiatric unit, in outpatient clinics, as a supervisor of medical student and resident trainees, as well as a consultant for medical/surgical teams in the hospital.
