About
Kellyn completed her B.A. in psychology at Princeton University and is a doctoral student at the University of Oregon. Kellyn’s research aims to disentangle developmental pathways between early life stress and mental health, with the goal of informing intervention and policy. Her current work focuses on understanding patterns of trauma exposure and psychological distress among displaced populations. As a clinician, Kellyn seeks to support families and children experiencing adversity using intergenerational and trauma-responsive modalities. Kellyn’s clinical experience leads her to approach her research from a lifespan developmental perspective that recognizes the complexity of contextual factors and reflects a growing commitment to centering community voices. She was drawn to UIC’s clinical psychology internship due to its focus on community engagement, as she continues to grow in this area.
