Jessica's enthusiasm spans several biology disciplines, with a particular focus on neuroscience and neurological diseases. Her interest includes researching DNA methylation and epigenetics within these fields. In the lab, Jessica is interested in working with animal models, focusing on neurological diseases/disorders and epigenetic mechanisms associated with psychiatric disease.
Jessica is interested in pursuing a degree in Molecular Biology. She leads the Youth Science Association, a Chicago-based organization dedicated to bringing science education to elementary-middle school students and fostering learning among young scientists throughout the city. She also has experience tutoring Chemistry and Biology to high school students. She has gained 2 years of experience serving as a research assistant at UIC.
