About
Fabiana is a second-year PhD student at the University of Naples Federico II, working in the field of central nervous system (CNS) disorders. During her first year of doctoral training, she investigated the role of biological mediators such as Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) and neurosteroids in CNS diseases. She recently completed a study exploring how PEA modulates pregnenolone and allopregnanolone levels in an animal model of autism (BTBR mice). She is currently carrying out her research period abroad, and she chose UIC to broaden her methodological skills and gain new insights into her research area. She is confident that this experience will contribute significantly to her personal and professional growth.
Interests
CNS disorders, neurosteroids, behavioral neuroscience, animal models, and translational research.
