Erin Tobin has been with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Illinois Hospital for more than ten years now. She is passionate about serving individuals with mental health problems and helping them to improve their emotional and physical health. As a graduate student of Jane Addams School of Social Work, she was a student intern on the adult psychiatric unit. This experience expanded her interest in serving this population in this capacity. She has worked on the adult psychiatric unit, on the women’s mental health team, for over five years now. She has also worked as a group therapist in the UI Health IOP. She feels strongly about providing service to historically underserved, impoverished populations and working at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences Systems gives her the opportunity to work with these communities, making sure they receive a level of care we all deserve. In 2015, Erin was awarded the hospital’s Employee of the Year!
