Dr. Elyse Shenberger is a postdoctoral research associate and clinical psychologist working in the MATTERs lab with Dr. Colleen Stiles-Shields. Her research focuses on teaching cognitive-behavioral skills to early childhood educators, helping them manage their own reactions to children’s challenging behaviors, with a goal of reducing exclusion from early childhood educational settings. She has a strong interest in implementation and dissemination work, especially in reducing systemic inequities for minoritized populations often excluded from mental health screening and intervention. Clinically, she specializes in working with children and families, especially those interacting with the healthcare system and those who experience chronic health conditions.
