About

Elias Cruz holds a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology with a specialization in heavy metal bioremediation. Throughout my doctoral studies, he focused on this research area, encompassing fields such as microbiology, molecular biology, and process engineering to build bioreactors for remediation of Cr(VI) with indigenous yeasts. Subsequently, he ventured into the corporate world, serving as the Head of the Molecular Biology department at a clinical laboratory. In this role, he honed skills related to management and project coordination, personnel supervision, inventory management, cost control, and more.

Engaged in projects at the Pinna Lab, investigating the role of specific neurosteroids in the pathophysiology of mood disorders. My work extends to exploring the dysfunctional neurocircuitry associated with mood instability, including participation in clinical trials to assess the efficacy of novel treatments for these conditions
