About

Dr. Elena Henderson is a clinical health psychologist. She graduated from University of Utah with her bachelor’s degree in psychology. She then obtained a master’s degree in psychology from New York University. Dr. Henderson completed her Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at Brigham Young University. She completed her predoctoral internship in Clinical Psychology at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Following internship, she returned to Salt Lake City, Utah where she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Health (Bariatric) Psychology at the University of Utah Medical Center, focusing on psychological evaluations and interventions regarding surgical and non-surgical weight management, body image, and dysregulated eating behaviors. Dr. Henderson recently moved to Chicago and joined the Bariatric Surgery service at UI Health, where she conducts pre-surgical evaluations and follows patients pre- and post-surgery. Dr. Henderson provides services in English and Spanish.
