Dr. Dillon Sharp is a resident physician in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was born and raised in Chicago and is excited to be serving a city that has given him so much. He received his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University where he majored in psychology with a certificate in neuroscience. His research as an undergraduate focused on autism spectrum disorder and neuroimaging, culminating in his thesis titled "Compensatory Neural Mechanisms in Unaffected Siblings of those with Autism - an fMRI Study". After Princeton he worked in NYU’s Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry pursuing similar autism spectrum disorder research with children utilizing fMRI. Before medical school, he took a brief break from the brain and worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center overseeing multiple phase I clinical drug trials for metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer. He was thrilled to return to Chicago for his medical training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and to stay at the University of Illinois for his residency in psychiatry.
