Andreea Seicean, M.D., Ph.D., M.P.H. completed her education at Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Clinic prior to a research track residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Her PhD area of expertise is in outcomes and cost effectiveness research, which she has applied across multiple medical specialties. Her clinical areas of interest include mood disorders and addiction in adolescents and adults.

Dr. Seicean has over 40 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. She has also been the recipient of a number of awards from prestigious medial institutions including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).During her time at UIC, Dr Seicean was awarded the Psychiatry Resident Research Award, Outstanding Resident Award and the Loan Repayment Program Award both from NIMH.

Dr. Seicean is currently continuing clinical work in private practice. She maintains an Adjunct Faculty position at UIC as she continues to pursue medical and academic research and teaching. Her current research is focused on the intersection of mood disorders, chronic pain, and opioid use.

Dr. Seicean is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of physician scientists and is actively involved with the psychiatry residency research track.
