About
Alexandra Zax is a postdoctoral fellow in the Maternal Health Research Center of Excellence and ACCESS for Mental Health Lab at UIC. To date, her primary research interests aim to shed light on complex associations between individual, cultural, and community factors on mental health and behavioral outcomes in youth and caregivers. Specifically, she is interested in understanding outcome multifinality among children exposed to trauma and the influence of stress, cognitive factors, and caregiver well-being on developmental pathways. Using an individual and systems-level approach, her long-term aim is to ameliorate disparities in mental health service access for caregivers to improve mental health outcomes for minoritized youth.
