About
Dr. Aaronson is a neuropsychiatrist clinician-researcher with a primary career goal of improving treatments for individuals with complex neuropsychiatric conditions. Her primary appointment is at the Edward J. Hines VA Hospital, wherein she is the recipient of a CDA2 award, with the objective of creating a frontal-pole intermittent theta burst stimulation treatment for Veterans with a history of mild traumatic brain injury who struggle with impulsivity and suicidal ideation. She also serves as team neuropsychiatrist on the Hines polytrauma multidisciplinary team, helping to coordinate complex care for Veterans with traumatic brain injury and co-occurring mental illness. She completed a two-year fellowship in Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neuroscientific Research at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, the same institution where she completed her General Psychiatry Residency. She is certified in the administration of transcranial magnetic stimulation and electroconvulsive therapies, and provides both treatments, clinically.
