Congratulations to Dr. Sean Blitzstein, who was awarded a Distinguished Fellow of the Association for Academic Psychiatry. He was also elected as the Vice-President of the Association for Academic Psychiatry!
Distinguished Fellows have sustained AAP membership for a minimum of 10 years, ongoing active participation in psychiatric education; and demonstrated leadership and service to the AAP as evidenced by AAP annual meeting participation (at least five meetings during the candidate’s membership, and at least one meeting within the last three years) and AAP committee membership (serving in some capacity for a total of seven “year equivalents”). In addition, Distinguished Life Fellows demonstrate generativity by unselfishly guiding the next generation of academic psychiatrists, and engage in passing on the traditions of the past to the next generation of academic psychiatrists. As an AAP member, Distinguished Fellows receive a subscription to Academic Psychiatry, online newsletter, AAP listserv access, free online job board postings; right to nominate self and others for AAP Awards; and reduced Annual Meeting registration fees.
