Tell Me about Your Motherboard: Psychiatry in the Age of Big Data and AI

John Zulueta is currently a fourth year resident in the Adult Psychiatry/Neuroscience Research Track at the University of Illinois Chicago. He completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University with a concentration in East Asian Studies. Following a brief stint working as a business analyst, he decided to pursue a career in medicine and obtained his medical degree at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. Following completion of his residency, he will be pursuing a fellowship in Clinical Informatics at the University of Illinois Chicago.

Audience: Psychiatrists, Neurologists, and other affiliated professionals interested in mental health

Purpose: To provide current information on research, treatment, and policy issues relating to psychiatry and its adjunct fields

1. Describe common techniques used in the analysis of big data.
2. Define “artificial intelligence” and describe current research into its use is Psychiatry.
3. Explain potential pitfalls of the application of AI to the practice of Psychiatry.
