Event Details

Martin Hinrichs is a current PGY-4 Adult Psychiatry resident. He grew up in Kansas before attending college and medical school at the University of Oklahoma and matching to residency at UIC. His primary clinical interests revolve around addictions treatment, and he will be starting his Addiction Psychiatry fellowship at UIC next year.


Audience:

Psychiatrists, Neurologists, and other affiliated professionals interested in mental health

Purpose:

To provide current information on research, treatment, and policy issues relating to psychiatry and its adjunct fields

Instructional level:

Advanced

Objectives:

  1. Recognize the prevalence of insomnia in substance use disorders
  2. Distinguish the shared and differing mechanisms for insomnia between different substances of abuse
  3. Identify appropriate treatments for insomnia in patients with substance use disorders
