Event Details

Luke Petry was born and raised in Champaign, Illinois where he later attended college at the University of Illinois, majoring in neuroscience. He spent one year working as an assistant in the Katzenellenbogen molecular endocrinology lab before matriculating at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine. Upon graduation he began residency in the UIC psychiatry program where he is currently Chief Resident of Education. Additionally, this year he was selected as a National Neuroscience Curriculum Initiative Scholar. His interests include neuromodulation, emerging pharmacotherapeutics, medical education, and wool socks.

To provide current information on research, treatment, and policy issues relating to psychiatry and its adjunct fields

  1. Discuss the legal hurdles of FDA approval of controlled substances.
  2. Describe the potential mechanisms of MDMA in PTSD.
  3. Discuss the clinical benefits of MDMA assisted psychotherapy.
