Event Details

Dr. Mai Nguyen was born and raised in Houston, TX. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Business Administration. She attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in the Texas Medical Center. She subsequently moved to Chicago, where she is currently a fourth-year psychiatry resident at UIC. Her clinical interests include psychosis and student mental health.

Psychiatrists, Neurologists, and other affiliated professionals interested in mental health

To provide current information on research, treatment, and policy issues relating to psychiatry and its adjunct fields

  1. Understand the phenomenon of suicide contagion and its associated risk factors.
  2. Discuss the scientific literature regarding the impact of the media.
  3. Describe the guidelines and recommendations for responsible media reporting.
