How to Apply
By the start of their fellowship, UIC Addiction Medicine fellows are required to have completed residency training in a medical field accredited by the United States Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
For positions that start July 2024, prospective applicants to our program should apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS):

ERAS applications should include the following:
- Curriculum vitae
- Three original letters of recommendation, one of which must be from your current or most recent training director (if within five years of training)
- Personal statement
- Medical school transcript
- USLME reports (1,2 and 3)
- ECFMG certification (IMG only)
Additionally, beginning this year, UIC Addiction Medicine Fellowship will be participating in the National Resident Matching Program (aka The Match). Our program code is 1150404F0. Information about The Match can be found here:

Pertinent dates to be aware of:
- July 3, 2024: Applicants may begin to submit applications to fellowship programs.
- July 17, 2024: We will begin to review applications and offer interviews for qualified applicants for whom our program appears to be a good fit. We will begin virtual interviews of applicants in August and continue through early November.
- August 21, 2024: National Resident Matching Program registration opens
- September 25, 2024: Rank List Opens
- November 20, 2024: Rank List Deadline
- December 4, 2024: Match Day
