Neuropsychiatry Track
The goal of the neuropsychiatry track is to prepare residents for work with complex cases at the interface of psychiatry, neurology, and general medicine. Residents on the track will develop their history-taking, cognitive and physical examination, and interdisciplinary communication skills. The Neuropsychiatry Track is good preparation for those interested in fellowships in Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry (BNNP), Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, or neuroscience-informed research careers. It is not a replacement for BNNP training and does not allow you to sit for the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties certification exam in BNNP.
The components of the Neuropsychiatry Track include:
- Primary Neuropsychiatry Clinic x 2 years
- Elective rotations will be determined on an individualized basis and can be completed either as a longitudinal experience in the afternoon, or as a shorter morning elective in at least two of the following:
- Memory Clinic (UIH)
- Cognitive and Vascular Cognitive Clinics (JBVA)
- Movement Disorders (UIH)
- Neurocircadian / Sleep Clinic (JBVA)
- Neurorehabilitation (Schwab)
- Neuropsychology (extended rotation) (UIH)
- Neuroradiology (UIH)
- Epilepsy/EEG/EMU (UIH)
- A scholarly project related to Neuropsychiatry
