Rotation Schedule

Four 2-month selective rotations:

  • Inpatient Senior/Consult Liaison at UIC
  • VA Consultation/Liaison Service
  • Integrated Care with UIC Family Medicine
  • ECT

4 months of elective time:

  • Options for electives are quite broad, including:
    • Substance Abuse residential treatment program at the JBVA
    • Inpatient Psychiatry at the Cook County Department of Corrections (Cermak)
    • Forensic psychiatry through Cook County Court Forensic Services
    • Student Mental Health at UIC
    • Insight Behavioral Health (including eating disorder residential and PHP programs)
    • Neuropsychiatry consults
    • Neurology electives including general neurology clinic, EEG, neuroradiology, and memory/aging clinic
    • Research
    • Teaching
    • Junior Attending for the Women's Mental Health inpatient team
    • VA specialty clinics (clozapine, sexual health, PTSD, movement disorders, telepsychiatry)
    • Group therapy
    • Additional individual psychotherapy in any modality
    • Additional medication clinics at UIC to build additional experience with recovery/substance abuse, bipolar, gender affirming clinic, women's resiliency clinic, psychosis, women's mental health, mood/anxiety disorders, or neuropsychiatry
    • Psychosocial Residential Treatment Program at JBVA
    • Ketamine at JBVA
    • Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
    • Community Outreach Intervention Project

Longitudinal experiences: Residents also maintain involvement in continuity clinics (1-2 half day/week), and continue at least 3 hours of psychotherapy (with supervision) in any modality.

 

Call Duties:

  • No call or night float.
