Dr. Maki’s research over the last 20 years has focused on women’s mental and cognitive health. She has a longstanding interest in sex differences in cognitive and psychiatric disorders. In particular, the goal of her work is to improve the lives of women by identifying risk factors and protective factors that alter their risk of cognitive decline and affective disorders.

Tory Eisenlohr-Moul, PhD


Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and the Women’s Mental Health Research Program

Dr. Tory Eisenlohr-Moul will join the Women’s Mental Health Research Program in January 2018. Dr. Eisenlohr-Moul’s research investigates acute neurobiological risk for suicidal behaviors. She will utilize her R00 award from the National Institute of Mental Health to examine the unique effects of perimenstrual withdrawal from estradiol and progesterone, as well as allopregnanolone, a GABAergic neurosteroid metabolite of progesterone, on acute suicide risk.
