Bell, Colleagues Publish Findings on Depression Intervention for Emerging Adults
Carl Bell, M.D., and colleagues Benjamin Van Voorhees, Justin Ellis, and Jackie Gollan, et al, published an article on their findings. The article, “Development and Process Evaluation of a Primary Care Internet-Based Intervention to Prevent Depression in Emerging Adults,” is published in the current edition of the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry.
Skinner Co-Authors OT Article on Area Therapists’ EBP Workgroup
Sarah Skinner, MEd,OTR/L, and James Hill, OTR/L, co-authored the American Occupational Therapy Association's Mental Health Special Interest Quarterly (30(4), 1-4), an AOTA newsletter, for December 2007 entitled: Integrating Evidence Into Practice: Experiences of an Evidenced-Based Practice Workgroup. Other authors include a former UIC therapist now working at Rush University Medical Center, Linda Olson, MS,OTR/L; as well as Fred Mahaffey, MS,OTR/L, from Northwestern Memorial Hospital; Laurie Pietkiewicz, MS,OTR/L, from Palos Community Hospital; and Janine Cunix also from Rush University Medical Center. The article highlights how a group of area therapists have created an ongoing, monthly workgroup to explore emerging EBP assessments and interventions.
Policies & Procedures
Over the next few months we will be providing and implementing Department Electronic, Network, Computing Policies and Procedures. All Department Policies and Procedures will be reviewed and endorsed by the Information Technology Steering Committee (ITSC) prior to presenting to the Department.
Because of our relationship to UIC and College of Medicine there are some Policies we automatically inherit. Two such policies:
- Information Security Policy - The University of Illinois
- University Guidelines on the Sale, Donation, or Transfer of Computer Hard Drives and Other Magnetic Media

We will make both of these policies (along with others forth coming) a part of new employee orientation, but to those of us already in the system we are asking that each of you please take the time to read these policies.
