Pandey Alcohol & Anxiety Research Featured in July Edition of Oprah Magazine
The current (July) issue of Oprah magazine explores the subject of inhibitions, and features an article on the research of Subhash Pandey, Ph.D., on alcohol, amygdala and anxiety. The article, on page 180, is titled “Liquid Confidence: Need a Drink to Loosen Up?”
Faculty Present at Annual AIDS Impact International Conference
At the 8th International Conference of AIDS Impact, an international organization for the study of psychological and social aspects of HIV disease, two presentations were made by the Center on Mental Health Services Research and Policy. Judith Cook, Ph.D., presented work on the effects of crack cocaine use on virologic suppression, immune reconstitution, and mortality among HIV-infected women. Dennis Grey presented findings of a study of evidence-based depression treatment among HIV-positive women.In addition, Carl Bell, M.D., gave a presentation on the CHAMP program in South Africa.
