POST-DOC KADRIU PLACES 3RD IN NEUROSCIENCE POSTER COMPETITION
NIMH Funds Mustanski Study of Internet-Based HIV/STI Prevention
Brian Mustanski, Ph.D., received a grant titled “Internet-Based HIV/STI Prevention for Young MSM Receiving HIV Testing” from NIMH. The three-year project will develop and test an innovative HIV prevention program for young gay men that is delivered entirely over the Internet. The project includes Geri Donenberg, Ph.D., the Center for the Advancement of Distance Education (CADE) at the UIC School of Public Health, and Howard Brown Health Care Center as the community partner. The grant uses the R34 intervention development mechanism. Direct costs are approximately $460,000.
Bell to Chair APA Council on Social Issues and Public Psychiatry
Carl Bell, M.D., recently was appointed the Chair the Council on Social Issues and Public Psychiatry of the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Bell also was appointed to the APA Personality Disorders Work Group of the Task Force on the DSM - V.
Post-Doc Kadriu Takes Third Place in Society for Neuroscience Poster Competition
Post-doctoral student Bashkim Kadriu, Ph.D., was the third place winner in the recently held 2007 Post-Doctoral Student Poster Competition sponsored by the Chicago Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience.
