In the aftermath of last week’s tragic shooting on the Virginia Tech campus, Patrick Tolan, Ph.D., discussed violence prevention in a Q & A last week with the Daily Herald. Pandey Gives MUSC Grand Rounds Lecture on Anxiety, Alcoholism
Subhash Pandey, Ph.D., gave a Grand Rounds lecture at the Medical University of South Carolina, Center for Drug and Alcohol studies, in Charleston SC last Thursday, April 19. The lecture on addiction was “Anxiety and Alcoholism: Perspectives from Molecular, Behavioral, and Neurocircuitry Approaches.”
Graduate Student Bal Awarded 3rd Place in UIC Research Forum
Elgiz Bal, a graduate research assistant working with Steve Porges, Ph.D., was awarded third place in the UIC Research Forum for Graduate Students. The title of her poster was: Emotion Recognition and Autonomic State in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. In addition to Ms. Bal, co-authors with were Vaughan Van Hecke, A., Harden, E., Lamb, D., Denver, J., Lebow, J., Kramer, A., Heilman, K., and Porges, S.W.
