Introduction
A person in a psychotic state is out of touch with objective reality in some way and may be cataleptic (unresponsive) or catatonic (responding to the environment with unusual physical activity, which may be agitated or aggressive).
He/she may experience auditory, visual, or other sensory hallucinations.
Pt can appear to be functioning normally while experiencing psychotic sx.
Psychosis can be temporarily induced by stimulating certain regions of the brain with electricity or by hallucinogenic drugs.
