On May 31, 2002, the UIC National Research and Training Center will host the workshop, "Self-Management of Psychiatric Symptoms: Taking Action to Achieve Recovery." This day-long workshop (held at the Chicago Hilton and Towers) will feature nationally-known speakers, Mary Ellen Copeland and Suzanne Vogel-Scibilia. Dr. Vogel-Scibilia's session will address "Navigating the Waters of Psychiatric Symptoms: Yes, There is Recovery and Hope!" Ms. Copeland's session will feature her "Wellness Recovery Action Planning: A Symptom Monitoring and Response System." Attendees will learn about practical, successful approaches to achieve recovery for themselves or to help their clients do so.
