Weekly
Behavioral Neurosciences Seminar to Commence Friday
A new weekly Behavioral Neurosciences
Seminar will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Friday mornings in
NPI Room 529 beginning with a kickoff Neuropsychiatry Conference entitled
"Clinical Cases of West Nile Virus" this Friday, Dec. 6. Jointly
sponsored by the Center for Cognitive Medicine, Neuropsychology and Neuropsychiatry
Divisions, and the MRI Research Center, the seminar is a combination of
invited speakers (colloquia), neuropsychology and neuropsychiatry case
conferences, and "combined imaging conferences." Beginning in
January, "combined imaging conferences" will be held on the
last Friday of each month. These imaging conferences will present cases
for which imaging, neuropsychology and neuropsychiatry were all involved,
and will feature a discussant for each case. The conference aims to promote
better integration among clinical and experimental neuroscientists, said
Neil Pliskin, Ph.D, who helped design and orchestrate the seminar. A breakfast,
sponsored by Novartis, will be served 15 minutes prior to each seminar.
