NIDRR Grant to Launch New Mental Health Service Satisfaction Survey

The National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) last week awarded a three-year, $450,000 grant to Susan Pickett-Schenk, Ph.D. In the project, "Differences in Mental Health Service Satisfaction Among Clients Interviewed by Consumer and Non-Consumer Researcher Using Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) Technology," mental health consumer and non-consumer researchers will use laptop computers to administer satisfaction surveys to 800 clients at the Community Mental Health Council. Study results will provide important information on African American clients' satisfaction with community mental health programs, the effect of researchers' consumer status on program satisfaction ratings, and the use of CAPI technology in mental health program evaluation.
