JCAHO Site Review Yields Good Compliance Preliminary Report

The preliminary report from the last week's site visit by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Organizations (JCAHO) was that UIC's Clinical Services are in "good compliance" with the 500 Standards against which Clinical Services were surveyed. Jan Spunt, R.N., M.S., Service Line Administrator noted, "this team of surveyors was extremely thorough." Ms. Spunt said the surveyors were impressed with and commented repeatedly on the interdisciplinary teams they interacted with everywhere they went. The review focused on Psychiatry Services last Monday, visiting the performance improvement team that presented for the Medical Center, our Addictions program and two of inpatient units. "Our staff were quite impressive and the JCHAO team commented on the depth of our Quality Improvement program and the collaborative team work of all of our staff," Ms. Spunt said.
