Geri Donenberg, Ph.D., last week received notice that her R01 grant proposal, "Therapeutic Schools: Affect Management and HIV Risk," will be funded by the National Institute of Mental Health. The five-year, two-site study will begin April 1. It will use a three-arm randomized controlled trial design to implement and evaluate two HIV-prevention interventions for adolescents in therapeutic day schools. One intervention focuses on managing affect, the other focuses on building skills. Dr. Donenberg (PI) will be collaborating with Larry Brown, Ph.D., (PI) of Brown University.
