Atkins Receives Two Federal Grants

Marc Atkins, Ph.D., last week received two federal grants. A three-year NIMH grant for $450,000 will fund Dr. Atkins and colleagues at three other universities seeking to develop an interdisciplinary understanding of the mental health capacity of schools. The second is a one-year $104,000 grant from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Bureau of Health Professions. This grant will support interdisciplinary training of child psychology graduate student through their participation in innovative interdisciplinary programs during their internship year. The training grant will be directed by Dr. Atkins and Sybil Madison, Ph.D. The Department's Internship Program in Clinical Child Psychology was among 20 training programs in the nation to receive DHHS funding, the first ever awarded by DHHS for training programs.
