Institute for Juvenile Research

The Institute for Juvenile Research (IJR), founded in 1909, has been a leading force in the provision of innovative mental health services to children and their families. A wide range of services are offered to children and families including individual, family, and group therapy. The clinical faculty and staff utilize a range of treatment modalities including behavioral, cognitive, psychodynamic, and systemic orientations to treatment. Each child and family is seen in a multidisciplinary intake clinic staffed by psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and nurses in order to facilitate the process of creating an individualized treatment plan that includes interventions that are the best suited to the needs of a child. the child and family are then assigned to a therapist who can most adequately address the presenting needs of the child and his caretakers. All children (to age 18) and their families are welcome to seek assistance regardless of gender, race, employment status, physical handicap, or source of financial support. Our services and staff are culturally sensitive. Bilingual therapist are also available.
