Ph.D. Candidate, Behavioral Neuroscience Program, Department of Psychology

Jessica is a graduate student in the Behavioral Neuroscience division of the UIC Department of Psychology. She joined the lab in Fall of 2015 to continue her research on substance abuse, with a particular focus on sex differences. Her Masters research at the University of Kentucky focused on the effects of repeated cue exposure on drug craving. Jessica received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 2008. Her doctoral research extends her work in substance abuse to HIV. She is currently working on a NIDA-funded research project focusing on sex steroid hormones and cognitive function in cocaine-dependent women with and without HIV.

Ph.D. Student, Behavioral Neuroscience Program, Department of Psychology

John begins his doctoral studies in the Behavioral Neuroscience Program in Fall 2016. He is interested in the neurobiology underlying cognitive dysfunction in HIV-infected women in the Women's Interagency HIV Study, focusing on DTI and resting state fMRI. Prior to joining UIC, he worked as a Mental Health Specialist at McLean Hospital on the inpatient unit and as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Massachusetts General Hospital researching genetics, aging, memory as well as MRI and PET (tau, amyloid, FDG) imaging in Alzheimer's disease. John graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in Psychology in 2012.
