Our experienced staff members are dedicated to providing patients and their families with the highest quality mental health services in the most effective, least restrictive setting. We offer inpatient, intensive outpatient, psychotherapy or general outpatient care that is specifically tailored to each patient. We understand that the decision to seek psychiatric care can be very difficult and we treat everyone with sensitivity and respect as we partner with them to enhance their life.

CLINICAL PROGAMS FOR ADULTS:
**Inpatient Psychiatry Unit
The Adult Psychiatry inpatient unit on 8 East is a treatment, training and research psychiatric unit serving the University Of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System. This unit represents a secure environment with a locked door to care for psychiatrically ill patients on a short-term basis.
Our unit has 35 patient beds and is staffed by attending physicians, full time psychiatrists who lead treatment teams focused on particular specialty areas: Mood & Anxiety Disorders Program, Psychotic disorders, Neuropsychiatry, and Women’s Mental Health, each with significant expertise in each of these areas.
We have a skilled team of nurses, mental health counselors, occupational therapists, music therapists, and social workers available to help care for patients and prepare them for their transition home. We provide comprehensive assessment, group therapy, individual therapy, discharge planning, case management, and family support / education for all our patients.
**Community Reintegration Program (Intensive Outpatient Day Program)
The Community Reintegration Program is a time limited intensive outpatient psychiatric rehabilitation program (IOP) dedicated to providing the supports and services necessary for mental health consumers to achieve their optimal level of social and occupational functioning. We provide therapeutic, social, and recreational opportunities that promote the achievement of mental health goals, teach skills, and address quality of life issues.
The Community Reintegration Program operates 4 days a week from 9:15am to 3:30pm. Participants receive group therapy, individual interventions, skills training, education, and case management facilitated by a dynamic multidisciplinary staff.
Mood and Anxiety Clinic
We offer treatment for adults using a comprehensive, individualized, evidence-based, multidisciplinary approach, including assessment, treatment planning, medication management, individual psychotherapy, CBT and group psychotherapy. We work with the following conditions:
- Major Depression
- Bipolar Disorder
- Dysthymic Disorder
- Seasonal Affective Disorder
- Panic Disorder
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder
- Adult ADHD
Neuropsychologyservices include comprehensive assessment services for teenage, adult, and geriatric patients in whom impairments of cognitive, neuropsychiatric, or developmental functioning are evident or suspected. Our services include outpatient evaluation and inpatient consultation services.
Neuropsychiatry/ Behavioral Neurology
This program specializes in the evaluation and treatment of the various psychiatric, cognitive, memory, and behavioral problems that can occur following or as part of neurologic and medical diseases.
Anchor Point Clinic
The Anchor Point Clinic specializes in helping persons (and their families) who are experiencing psychosis. About 4 percent of the world's adult population suffers from psychosis and can include false beliefs about what is taking place and who you are (delusions) or seeing or hearing things that aren’t there (hallucinations). Sometimes psychosis may be from medical or neurologic problems, or may arise from problems with drugs and alcohol. We offer a range of services, including diagnostic evaluation, specialized medication management, consultations, family education and support, psychotherapy, and research programs.
Women's Mental Health Clinic
Our women's services provide diagnosis and treatment for women of all ages. Whether women are suffering from severe psychiatric problems or have symptoms related to the stresses of their social roles (marital and family relationships, juggling work and family responsibilities, parenting challenges), we offer treatment and support through medication management, consultation, psychotherapy, and couples therapy.
Neurodevelopmental Psychopharmacology Clinic
The Neurodevelopmental Psychopharmacology Clinic provides medication management services for children and adolescents with autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders.
Consultation-Liaison Service (Children/Adolescents)
The Child Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison Service provides urgent consultations to the pediatric inpatient unit and specializes in treating medically complex children who have comorbid psychiatric diagnoses.
The DBD Program has a mission of designing, delivering, and developing state-of-the-art mental health interventions for children and families with externalizing disorders and co-morbid diagnoses.
Comprehensive Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Clinic (CAC)
The Comprehensive Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Clinic provides evidence-based comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of ADHD for individuals 4-17 years old. Many children and adolescents treated at our clinic also have other difficulties including learning problems, oppositional and disruptive behaviors, mood and anxiety disorders and various medical problems.
General Diagnostic Clinic (GDC)
The general diagnostic clinic provides assessment of children and adolescents with a full range of presenting problems.
Pediatric Stress and Anxiety Clinic
The Pediatric Stress and Anxiety Disorders Clinic (PSADC) specializes in early identification, comprehensive evaluation, and evidence-based treatment of anxiety disorders in diverse youth from age 18 months through older adolescents.
Pediatric Mood Disorders Clinic
The Pediatric Mood Disorders Clinic specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with mood disorders
