Presentation: Porges Keynote Speaker at International Society for Applied Ethology Stephen Porges, PhD will be presenting the Will-Gush Memorial Lecture at the International Society for Applied Ethology to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 31 - August 4, 2011. Presentation: Cook Presents Keynote Address at Texas Behavioral Health Institute Annual Conference Judith Cook, PhD delivered a plenary keynote address entitled, “Evidence-Based Model of Supported Employment: How to Incorporate This Model in Your Behavioral Health Center” on July 21st at the annual Texas Behavioral Health Institute conference held in Austin Texas. Attended by over 1200 mental health and substance abuse treatment providers, this week-long event is one of the nation’s premier behavioral health conferences. Ed Cook Research Group Featured in UIC News Previously reported research by Edwin Cook, MD, co-investigator Fedra Najjar, MD, and study coordinators Sarah Youngkin and Clare Tessman has also been featured in the July 20, 2011 UIC News in a story entitled, “UIC researchers test autism treatment.” The group recently launched a new UIC clinical trial to evaluate an experimental drug (STX209 - Arbaclofen) for possible treatment of social communication difficulties in children and young adults with autism. CCTS Reports October Clinical Research Training Module Dates The UIC’s Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) newsletter reports new training modules for Clinical Research Personnel responsible for clinical research studies will be held October 14, 21, and 28.
