Gonzalez Joins JINS Editorial Board

Raul Gonzalez, PhD has been appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society (JINS). JINS covers development of cognitive processes, brain-behavior relationships, adult and child neuropsychology, disorders of speech and language, and the interface of neuropsychology with related areas, such as cognitive neuroscience, behavioral neurology and neuropsychiatry. Dr. Gonzalez joins Eileen Martin, PhD on the editorial board.

Pavuluri Quoted in CNN and UIC News

Book: Blitzstein Publishes Lange Q&A Psychiatry

Sean Blitzstein, MD (Director, Psychiatry Clerkship) reports his book, Lange Q&A Psychiatry is now in press (New York: McGraw-Hill Medical, 10^th Edition). Contributors from UIC include: Marika Wrzosek, MD (PGY-3), Shetal Amin, MD (former resident), Martina Gunaratnam, MD (PGY-4), and Anoop Vermani, MD (former resident and current Child Fellow). The text is “the most thorough and up-to-date psychiatry review available for the USMLE Step 2 CK and psychiatry clerkship exam” and includes 800+ board-style questions that cover core competencies. Also at the APA May meeting, Ellen Astrachan-Fletcher, PhD and Gastón Baslet, MD led a four-hour course entitled, “Neuroscientific Understandings in Psychotherapy.”

Gastón Baslet, MD, Amanda Uliaszek, and Eric Prensky, PhD presented a poster entitled, “Patterns of Emotion Processing in Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures” in a New Research session at the APA May meeting.
