Randall S. Carter, PsyD
Assistant Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry
Dr. Carter has many years ofexperience providing therapy and treatment services to abused and neglected children and their families. He has a long-standing interest in the development of trauma-based interventions for children and families and in the development of resiliency in children and adolescents. Dr. Carter is a consultant with the UIC Comprehensive Assessment and Response Training System (CARTS) program and provides consultation, technical assistance, and training to residential treatment facilities throughout the state of Illinois.
Community-based interventions for children and their families; Consultation and training of child-care staff in residential programs; improving treatment efficacy of residential treatment facilities and facilitating children’s return to their community and families; dissemination of evidence-based practices.
