The UIC Department of Psychiatry’s mission is to enhance the quality of life of patients with mental disorders through excellence in clinical service, education and research. We strive to generate and further knowledge in all aspects of mental health research, including basic and clinical neuroscience, prevention, intervention and health services, in order to benefit people with mental illnesses, their families, and the local, state, national, and international communities.
