The Hyperactivity, Attention, and Learning Problems Clinic, under the direction of Mark Stein, PhD, provides evaluation and consultation services for school age children and adolescents.
The majority of referrals are from community-based pediatricians. Public Aid does not cover the costs of psychological testing, which is a component of a HALP evaluation. However, the HALP clinicians are happy to consult with pediatricians on a case by case basis. In addition, HALP is conducting a research study comparing two medication frequently used to treat ADHD.
Trainees from pediatrics, psychiatry, and psychology may rotate through this clinic and learn multidisciplinary evaluation and consultation skills.
