Hyperactivity, Attention and Learning Problems Program (HALP)
The Hyperactivity, Attention, and Learning Problems Clinic, under the direction of Janine Rosenberg, PhD, provides psychological evaluation and consultation services for school age children, adolescent, and young adult.
The majority of referrals are from community-based pediatricians. Public Aid does not cover the costs of psychological testing, which is a component of a HALP evaluation. However, the HALP clinicians are happy to consult with pediatricians on a case by case basis. In addition, HALP is part director of a summer treatment program, Camp STAR, for children with ADHD and related behavior problems (jcys.org/campstar). HALP also has research opportunities related to medication management for adolescents with ADHD.
Trainees from pediatrics, psychiatry, and psychology may rotate through this clinic and learn multidisciplinary evaluation and consultation skills
