Clinic Program
Autism and Related Disorders
The Developmental Disorders Program (DDP) and The Autism Program (TAP) at UIC specialize in diagnostic evaluations, consultation, and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with known or suspected Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Clinical services offered by DDC and TAP include diagnostic evaluations and re-evaluations, social skills groups, school evaluations and consultation, individual and family treatment, workshops, and pharmacological management of children and adolescents.
Staff
In addition to the clinical programs listed above, IJR houses world renowned researchers in the area of autism. This is one of five national Autism Centers of Excellence (ACE) sites and is undergoing a large-scale investigation of the genetic, neurobiological, and cognitive features of individuals with ASD. This project also aims to investigate pharmacological agents useful for treating autism. Additional research opportunities for families are available.
