Three intervention studies will be evaluated on individuals with autism spectrum disorder at the Easter Seals Therapeutic Day School:
- The Listening Project Intervention: Neurobiologically-based auditory intervention that is administered in five daily sessions. The intervention is designed to increase spontaneous social behaviors and the effects will be evaluated by pre- and post-testing of visceral regulation, auditory processing and affect recognition.
- The Listening Project Curriculum Booster: Neurobiologically-based auditory intervention that will be administered daily as part of the classroom curriculum. The effects of this long-term intervention will be evaluated by teacher report of classroom behavior.
- The Stress Eraser Intervention: The Stress Eraser biofeedback device will be used to help individuals self-soothe by teaching breathing techniques. The effects will be evaluated by pre- and post-testing of visceral regulation, auditory processing and affect recognition.
