Goals are to investigate decision making functions and their relationship to HIV risk behavior among a group of MSMs enrolled in the Chicago MACS who use drugs.
2. 2006-2011 "Cognitive Neuropsychology of HIV and Drug Abuse"

The goals of this project are to investigate the effects of HIV and drug abuse on executive function in HIV+ and HIV- subjects with a history of cocaine or heroin dependence compared with HIV+ and HIV- non-drug using controls to investigate further the relationships between executive deficits, procedural learning, response inhibition, and indices of HIV risk behavior and daily function.
3. 2008-2010 "Morphometric Studies of HIV and Drug Abuse: A Pilot"

PI: John Phair, Northwestern University Goals were to evaluate neurocognitive function in HIV+ men who have sex with men and HIV controls enrolled in a multicenter longitudinal study of HIV disease progression.

The major goals of this project are to examine the personality, psychiatric, and neurobehavioral manifestations of impulsivity in heroin and stimulant addicts and to determine how impulsivity relates to HIV risk behaviors.
